Islands Hopping

Day Tour

At the end of the peninsula known as Digby Neck, two remarkable islands rise up from the sea. One narrow and long (Long Island)  and one short and wide (Brier Island).  These ancient geological formations were created from the interplay of earth and ocean, and shape the lives of those who join with -and make their living from- that interplay.

Come with me, and experience the unique culture of the area; clamber down to view the impossible but real basalt monolith, and learn the story of the first solo sailing venture around the world.

Let me take you there...to take in the unparalleled vista of golden coarse seagrasses swaying before a panoramic view of the Bay of Fundy, stretching wave after wave into blue yonder. I know the place-it's a place also of wild blueberries, and crimson with cranberries, in season.

I know a lighthouse where it still tolls the fog magic as it creeps over the land on "cat's paws" and envelops us in mystery. It is also a place of barking seals and wheeling terns and crying gulls.

Let the sea breeze ruffle your hair as we are wisked to each island on a short ferry ride. You may see rare endangered whales or playful porpoise on your adventure.

As part of the tour, to connect with local culture, we may visit local stores and artisans.

You will want to come back...

An incredible day tour!
